Children’s Eyecare Services
Clear vision is incredibly important for a child’s educational, physical and social development. If a child is unable to see clearly, they are denied the opportunity to reach their full potential. And with approximately one in five Australian children either suffering from an undetected vision problem or requiring ongoing assessment, it is important to be aware of the possible signs that a child isn’t seeing properly.
This is where we come in. Our optometrists are experienced in providing children’s vision and paediatric eye care services. We offer eye examinations for children of all ages, including babies as young as one week old and children all through their preschool and school years. We also have a local initiative performing vision screenings for Year One students in schools across Muswellbrook, Scone and Aberdeen.
When Should You Have Your Child’s Eyes Examined?
Optometry Australia recommends that children have a full eye examination with an optometrist before starting school and then regular visits as they progress through primary and secondary school.
